Research Advances in Plant Physiology and Ecology of Desert Riparian Forests under Drought Stress

Under drought stress, desert riparian forest plants are highly self-regulating and have their own unique water use regulation strategies, which can respond positively in several aspects such as physiology, ecology, individual phenotypes when coping adapting to the stresses brought by external environmental changes. In addition, an important component of arid zone ecosystems, maintain cycling process energy material areas. Therefore, it is great ecological value study role played desertification control biodiversity conservation zones. The purpose this provide basic data scientific basis for conservation, restoration forests inland river basin zone. paper, physiological responses under stress were analyzed reviewing literature focusing on key issues avoidance mechanisms, use, redistribution, relationship between interspecific competition resource sharing plants. results showed that: (1) zone, show a mutual coordination increasing soluble sugars, proline, malondialdehyde (MDA), decreasing peroxidase (POD), form mechanism, improve tolerance changing leaf stomatal conductance resulted from regulating abscisic acid (ABA) cytokinin (CTK) content. (2) Desert strategies. When degree increased, Populus euphratica enhanced flow dominant branches actively sacrificing inferior ensure overall survival chances plant, while Tamarix ramosissima weaken hydraulic conductance, increase subsurface inputs reducing plant height cope with stress. (3) root systems uplift redistribution functions, and, P. T. systems, there possibility assisting other species utilization existence mechanism.
